In university-wide training courses, there is no discussion of pedagogical issues. But in the dept. tech practicum, there is lots of discussion of theory/pedagogy.

i'm sort of lost and trying to figure where to start up again...so i'm starting at #90, but maybe i'm not supposed to. to make it clear: our dept has no REQUIRED tech training.

We have: Comp Faculty Retreats that somewhere between 60 and 85% of the comp fac attend. CIT offers sessions to ALL faculty--I am betting 5% of all folks attend. There are funds here for Technology Development for FT tenure/track faculty

Use of technologies for facilitating composition program curriculum

How to create assignments and what kind of realistic expectations these have (in terms of student workload).

Teachers make their own uses/adaptations of the technology, based on their own needs, curricula, projects, and underlying approaches or theories.

Issues vary widely depending on workshop: many are just mechanical, some are pedagogical.
